Mar '08.

Hello my friends.

I sincerely hope 2008 has begun in wonderful style for you, and I wish
you nothing but health & happiness throughout the year.

Kicking off the proceedings, this is a very special year for one man
in particular. He celebrates 50 years of treading the boards & bending
the strings:

Mike "Whiskerfish" Dollins!

Mike for me continues to bring cutting edge Blues music played only
the way he can play it. He loads his blues with passion and enthusiasm
with a marbled thread of "True Delta Blues."

Mike also continues to turn heads in the Deltaland of Arkansas with
Radio Stations clambering to interview a man who has met and played
with the greatest and has seen 'em come and go. Yet Mike remains at
the for front of the Underground Blues Circuit locally and come to
think of it Nationally & Globally.

Its not just the about the playing with Mike, its about Putting the
Blues out there for a "World of People" to enjoy and be involved with.
Mikes countless websites pay testimony to he tireless work to keep our
beloved Blues alive and kicking. And kicking it is because Mike makes
it happen.

For stunning news, music and everything BLUE catch Mike on the below.
WARNING: You wont want to leave!!!

Boogablues & Southern Rock & Blues UK

Two great sites that cover some great artists from around the world,
are the below forum sites.

I visit often to marvel at some really great bands that would remain
very much in the back ground if it wasn't for sites like these.

From Chat to Music Gear, Bands to Solo Artist, these are wonderful.

http://southernrockuk.proboards50.com/index.cgi

Kansas City Online Radio.

For me, this station has it all. Not only does it house arguably the
greatest independent Blues in the World. Its full to the rafters with
other great shows from Psychic Discussions, debates on Ufology to the
zany antics of Mac & Trav in the late night show. TV Sucks, but Radio
thrives right here on KCOR. All available at a click of a mouse! Great
eh?

Mark Kerr his Music And his "Blues Nation" & "Christian Blues Shows"

Kansas City Online Radio had the foresight and intuition to back what
are two simply stunning shows. I have been very privileged to be on
Marks show on numerous occasions, even without that. I am a fan. Why?
Because both shows are nothing but pure "Class".

The "Blues Nation Show" airs late here in England, 11pm to be precise.
You will catch me with a cold one in hand, feet up on my desk, my ear
phones on and my wife throwing empty cans at me to get my attention,
dream on! I get totally lost in to me, the greatest Blues Show around,
end of Story!

But, it must be pointed out that is just one element of what Mark has
stashed in his armoury.

Mark is also a "Top Flight" Musician & Guitarist. He can stand with
anyone, anytime, anyplace accept me when im listening to his show, he
will have to sit & wait til its over. But seriously if you haven't
checked on "Mark Kerr The Musician" you really should.

Mark can be found at the following address where you can hear & see
him in action:

Terry Knott's Online Store!

I have been very overwhelmed at the amount of patronage my Store has
received, with T-Shirts, Caps, Mugs for adults and kids alike going
out the door in such large quantities.

I try to change the designs as often as time allows! Its U.S. based
because it was great service and it offered such a wide range of
products. Thank you all very much for your purchases id love to see
photo's of you wearing or using the products it will make a great
slide show.

You can find my store at:

Official Blues Hall Of Fame!

http://www.myspace.com/blueshalloffame

The myspace "Wing" of the Official Blues Hall of Fame continues to
grow at pace. In the main, because of you. Thank you very much!

The Hall Of Fame is about recognising those who "Pay Their Dues in The
Blues". This is not purely about us musicians who play, record and
front the Blues. Its also about those who have a passion about it, and
have spent years promoting it either as a D.J. or a Fan who spreads
the word about Blues Venues, Artists, Radio Stations across the World.
Its about those who go "That extra mile" for the Blues.

I am not only very privileged to have been inducted, but to sit on the
"Ambassador Board" who review and Induct such wonderful people from
all walks of life.

Myself and my fellow board members are always looking for people who
can recommend anyone who bares the induction criteria above. If you
know anyone. Please do not hesitate to advise us of the person(s)
concerned. We do require your reasoning for submission, a website
address where they can be reviewed musically or otherwise should they
be a non musician. It is that simple.

The Myspace H O F site bares some stunning Blues Artists from Greece
to Germany, Australia to Scotland. It also includes some wonderful
Music Video's from the Masters! Its really worth visiting.

I want to name just a few great artists from the site for you to marvel at:

Well folks, that about wraps up my outing for March. A big one I
know, but a lot to advise since my last informative one in November.

If that's not enough to keep you busy, my blogs are loaded with
reviews & recommendations from the great "Smokin Joe Thunder" to
"Trimmed & Burning Amps & Guitars. That will keep you going.

Visit me on my site any time, there is always the warmest of welcomes waiting.

God Bless and have a great week & weeks til next time.

Cheers

Blues Guitar News: www.bluesguitarnews.com March, 2008

Hello blues buddies.  Hey, Gibson guitar just asked me to put their logo on our web site,
for free naturally, and I turned them down.  Some how the corporation found out about our
underground blues network that wraps around the world in the tens of thousands.  I
graciously told them no thanks.  The only big time logo I post is Mesa Boogie. I wrote
Randal Smith creator-owner of Mesa Boogie years ago, and he writes me back every so
often. We talk amp tech stuff, and he is just a real deal guy.  I use Mesa Boogie, and I
keep Randal’s Boogie logo on many of my sites for giving me the respect a gigging,
working guitar player should have.  Something other big music corporations don’t have a
clue about at all.  I like keeping this an underground blues network. I have a few folks
taking out ads now in Blues Guitar News, but they are working musicians.  Soon as the
big corporations pay you something, then you’ll be just like the Rolling Stone, all full-page
ads of crap, and very little usable music news.  This is an underground, blues friends
networking tool that many thousands read, use and pass around the world.  There are very
few real deal, down to earth music magazines these days.  Most are hyped up, fifth
Avenue sales gimmicks to get a buck out of you slanted.

Peter Read’s Nightflying – Friendly to blues pickers.
If you want a real deal magazine, right here in Little Rock, Arkansas we have Peter Read’
s Nightflying Entertainment Guide.  This publication reaches out in the delta heartland of
the USA, you know where all the real deal music originated in Arkansas, Mississippi,
Tennessee, Louisiana, Texas, Missouri, and basically your Mississippi River Valley delta
country. You want to know what’s happening in the delta motherland, just go to Nightflying’
s link.
www.nightflying.com Don’t miss Doug Treadway’s great music reviews: www.

Hairy Larry
You can find out more about the Delta Blues Motherland at www.deltaboogie.com  by
creator-owner Hairy Larry.  It don’t get any more down and dirty, real deal than this.  We
are talking pure grass roots blues, right on Highway 49.   Beat that for real blues, if you
can?

We are featuring Terry Knott’s Blues News this month in Blues Guitar News.  Travel
around, and just try to find a more dedicated blues enthusiast than Terry.

Trivia Crap:
I started playing the guitar in 1958 at 13 years old.  Oldies but Goodies were top forty hits,
and the best guitars were Gibson Les Pauls, and Fender Teles & Strats, and the best
amps were Tweed Fenders.  Gosh, not a lot of changes in fifty years come to think of it.  I
use a Gibson Les Paul, Fender Tele & Strat, and a reissue Fender Tweed.  The only thing
new is my Mesa Boogie Amps, which is a spin off of the Fender Deluxe.   In this music
business that has a thyme of, “It’s All About Me” I’ve seen it all come and go, and come
and go, and come and go.   I’ve had some super great, and tough – hot bands and then
some not so good bands too.  My first band was in 1960, and I can’t remember the
endless list of bands I’ve been in, and formed over the decades.  Usually finding folks in
the last fifty years to play blues was like asking someone to volunteer for an IRS audit,
while they were having a root channel.  Most wind up wanting to really play rock or
country.  The current edition of the Mike Dollins Band is called Friends.  They are just so
good to the old picker here.  A very talented group of folks I could brag about for hours.
They let me do all the blues I want, plus we stretch out and visit R&B, Soul, Jazz and Pop.
Just check out our site: www.mikedollins.biz and our MySpace site: www.myspace.
com/mikedollinsband where we have six new songs posted off our new CD soon to be
released.

Blues Guitar News:
As you meander through our Blues Guitar News, you will find endless blues networking,
blues friends, real deal folks and travel down blues highways for days, and days. Pack a
lunch, sit a spell and check out all our back issues.   We get up to 20,000 hits a day on this
site at the first of every month.  This month we are honoring all the blues pickers that were
so gracious to leave a nice comment on our various MySpace sites.   Check them out,
and tell them we sent you.  We know folks lift stuff our pages, and use it.  Cool, and have
fun with it.  It’d be nice to tell folks where you got the links, but we understand if you don’t
want to say anything about us.  It’s just the “Me” music business, that’s all.  Well, that’s
enough this month, and if you like your blues networking underground, street level where
working, gigging musicians gather, you’ve come to the right joint.
God bless, and take care:  Mike  MySpace:
