From the Deltaland on the Arkansas side of the Mississippi River Valley, we want to say
hello and how are you all doing?   We’ve surpassed 17,000 readers worldwide
according to our site checker, and have had 26,000 visitors to our MySpace site.   In the
last few years we’ve met blues friends from around the world, and the list grows on a
daily basis.  We thank you all for the encouragement, and acknowledgement.    With my
new band booking gigs so solid all the way out to June of 2009, my time on the
computer these days is very limited.   The many chats with blues buddies on a global
scale are few and far between these days.  Y’all will have to please accept this blanket
apology, as it has become next to impossible for one guy to answer the miles and piles
of emails, messages and information coming from so many directions.  Overwhelming at
times, but inspirational that so many thousands of folks are into the blues all around the
world.

With a heavy gigging schedule, I finally found a break to get the October issue out a
week past our normal time.  For you first time folks, our back issues date back two
years, and you will find a wealth of blues information and like the elusive rabbit in Alice
in Wonderland, you will travel down a path of endless blues networking if you care to.
This year celebrated my 50th as a guitar player, picking the habit up in 1958 at 13
years old.  A few blues friends had the ambition to form a worldwide blues jam, to help
me celebrate this passing, which never happened.  It is all quietly passing along as
another year in the blues.   It has become a special year for me though, as my new
band is a surprise package that has me excited about playing again.  You can check all
that out here, as I want to toot their horn too.  In fact, this is a “Shout Out” issue, and I
want to list a few folks that are inspirational to me, and keep me encouraged to keep
this going.   God bless, Mike Dollins

PS: Mouse click the good folks' logos and photos to visit some great blues sites, and tell
them Mike Dollins sent you.  This is called blues networking.

I'd like to shout out about the new trio which is called Mike Dollins & The Cruize
Brothers featuring Guido Ciradetti on Bass and Brad Messer on drums.  In our
second month, the group is gaining on solid ground, the gigs are coming in and
a CD recording date is in the works.  The reviews and feedback is tremendous,
and we are having a lot of fun playing what we call "Roadhouse" all pure USA
music with a blues, jazz, R&B, Soul, Funk and Rock origin.  Click our fancy
photo below, and check out the new edition of "The Cruize Brothers."
