We are knee deep in winter here in the southland, with unusually hard-hitting cold spells. Since I am on lock down staying off the roads, I thought I’d get
Blues Guitar News ready for February. We’ve had a whiz-bang beginning in 2009, and our trio is doing really good booked out to the end of the year
already. Joe Pitts has been playing with us off and on when he is in town from his European tours, and it is always a pleasure to double up and jam all
night long with this amazing guitar player. We’ve started our new CD, and you can get a sneak preview on our main band web site. This month we are
featuring the Blues Hall of Fame, and the inductees from Arkansas that we just recently honored. The Arkansas River Blues Society teamed up with us,
and held their monthly jam session, were we announced the new members of the Blues Hall of Fame. If you have not been to the Blues Hall of Fame,
please take a tour of the web site by clicking any BHoF logo. Drop Dan Marolt, President of BHoF, an email, or vote for an artist. Dan has a lifetime of
devotion to developing the Blues Hall of Fame, and us street level pickers respect all that he does to promote and keep the blues alive and well on an
international scale. In 2010, you can travel to the crossroads of Highway 49 & 61, in Clarksdale, Mississippi when there will be a grand opening of the
official location for the Blues Hall of Fame. The rest of that story is below. With all that said, check out the great photos this month, and our featured
items of interest. God bless, and keep on jammin’ them blues.

One of my favorite west coast
R&B bands is Reno Jones. I'm a
sucker for a great horn section.
Add in a formative boogie on
down rhythm section, and singer
Jerri-Sue Dawson in front, and
you got magic. Check out their
myspace site for their version of
Jr.Well's "Little by Little" as it
floats my boat for sure. This is
one tight band. Their credits
and credentials are solid and
lengthy. Keep your eye on this
crew, as they got the real deal
R&B horn band sound and feel -
right on.
PS: Deja Vu of Cold Blood with
Lidia Pence for sure.
