Mike Dollins Band
Private Collection Sessions
I loved the Motown movie "Standing In The Shadows," as working musicians worldwide have stood in the shadows eternally. Not a bad thing, it is just the way it is when you gig for half a century. For me, I have been blessed with family, and ever since high school great musicians too. I picked the guitar up in 1958, when all we had were tweed amps. Always having some sort of band, I have met a wide variety of musicians from beginners, to masters of the trade. I love jamming, (Spontaneous Improvising), and this CD has it.
Groups of folks I've had, have opened for major named acts, and seen stages of all sorts from Honky Tonks, to Coliseums. Working musicians have seen their share of Juke Joints too. The fellows, and I have been on numerous radio stations worldwide, and a few television shows too.
This 16 song CD is a Private Sessions Collection. Not intended for commercial endeavors, but a listening view of the many great musicians over my years. Some of the songs date back to 1968, with the Late Bluesman, Big Daddy Rucker, recorded on an Akai M8, Reel-to-Reel tape deck. Some of the instrumental jams near the end do not have the modern sparkle, and dazzle, but this is a music history over the decades. Perhaps inclined to a musician's listening palette. A few songs are flat out hard jams. It is a mix of Blues, Roadhouse, R&B and some Jazz spanning 50 years.
Thanks to the Musicians contributing over time to this CD:
Big Daddy Rucker, Victor Marquez, Len Rainey, Tony Matoian, Bruce Norton, Joel Partovich, Joe Nachison, Roy Enjambre, Dominic Enjambre, Cynthia Hammond, Johnny Serrano, Danny Antell, Randy Bidinger, Don Draw, Steve Donez, Brad Messer, Mike Fraz, Guido Ciardetti,

Mike Dollins, picked the guitar up in 1958, at the age of 13. He has maintained bands most of his life, opening up for numerous national acts across the USA. This CD is a private collection of music from as far back as 1968, with the late historic bluesman Big Daddy Rucker. A history that features some great musicians including the bluesmen Victor Marquez and Len Rainey, plus jazz vocalist Cynthia Hammond.
The new CD is a half century of R&B, Blues, Jazz and Boogie, from the Mike Dollins' bands. The 16 song selection encompasses a broad path of flavors in Rhythm & Blues. As a working musician, Mike, enjoyed hosting blues jam sessions, and encouraged younger generations of players in keeping the faith in genuine American made music; "Keep it alive and well."
We at MOD Sound, hope you enjoy a tune or two, and hopefully spread the word that the Michael Dollins Bands play both kinds of music; "Rhythm & Blues."
Thank you, MOD Sound
